Providing Clothing, Confidence, and Support to Our Community
Greater Picks is a community-first clothing boutique hosted by the Greater Washington Urban League (GWUL). We offer a curated, zero-cost shopping experience designed to feel like a premium retail environment. We are dedicated to helping individuals and families access a variety of new and gently used, quality clothing and accessories, based on available inventory.
Whether you are preparing for a job interview, re-entering the workforce, or navigating a life transition, Greater Picks provides quality apparel and 1-on-1 styling support to help you step forward with confidence.
Our goal is to ensure that community members have access to clothing that meets their everyday, seasonal, and professional needs.

Shopping Guidelines
To help ensure clothing remains available to everyone in our community:
- Shoppers may visit up to four times per year, once per season.
- A typical shopping visit includes approximately 5–7 items, including shoes, depending on need and availability.
- Shopping visits may be limited to 30 minutes during busy periods.
- Additional visits for emergency clothing needs may be approved on a case-by-case basis.
- Individuals with confirmed job interviews may request an additional visit for professional attire with proof of their interview. These visits do not count toward seasonal limits.

Your Donations Make a Difference
We accept
Greater Picks welcomes donations of new and gently used clothing to support individuals and families in our community.
We accept:
- Men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing
- Shoes and accessories
- Professional and interview attire
- Coats, jackets, and seasonal clothing
We cannot accept
We cannot accept:
- Underclothing
- Stained, torn, or heavily damaged items
- Clothing with strong odors
- Items that are not clean and ready to wear
Donation Drop-Off Information
Please call or email Greater Picks before bringing donations so our team can confirm available space and arrange to receive your items.
Donations appropriate for the current or upcoming season are especially appreciated.
Tax receipts are available upon request for eligible donations.
