Inclusionary Zoning Program
The Inclusionary Zoning program supports income-eligible residents of Washington, DC, by offering housing options below market prices. To participate, eligible households must attend an Inclusionary Zoning Orientation at GWUL and register for the lottery through the DC DHCD website.

First-time homebuyers in Montgomery County, MD, can apply for affordable housing through the Moderately Priced Dwelling Units (MPDU) program. This program offers homes at affordable prices—both new and resale—available to first-time homebuyers with moderate income levels.

To apply, you must attend three mandatory online educational sessions:

  • MPDU Orientation Seminar
  • First-Time Homebuyer Classes
  • Application Tutorial

To move forward, you must score 80% or more on the post-test for each class and obtain a certificate of completion. Please check the events page for the latest class schedule.

HOMEBUYERS CLUB

HOMEBUYERS CLUB

The Greater Washington Urban League’s Home Buyers Club is a comprehensive 18-month program for first-time homebuyers. Through monthly seminars and consistent support from Certified Housing Counselors, participants gain clarity and confidence to navigate the home-buying process.

To qualify for the Home Buyers Club, participants must:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Have sufficient income to afford mortgage payments
  • Participate in the program for at least 6 months
  • Contribute $50 monthly to a Capital One Savings account

To join, complete the Home Buyers Club Intake Application, including a Credit Report Authorization. This will help us determine if you’re ready to purchase a home. Once your form is reviewed, we will confirm your participation.

HOUSING COUNSELING SERVICES​

HOUSING COUNSELING SERVICES

We offer FREE assistance to homeowners in Washington, DC, Prince George’s County, and Montgomery County who are facing foreclosure. Our team will work with you and your loan servicer to create a resolution plan and connect you with additional resources.
