The goals of the Greater Washington Urban League's education programs are to support the instructional and experiential learning programs of children and youth attending school in our service area; to develop a network of individuals, organizations, churches and businesses working in support of academic achievement' to expand the corps of community volunteers; and to increase the awareness and participation of parents regarding the education of their children.  More »

Housing and Community Development

The League's Housing Division builds financial bridges from rental housing to the American dream of homeownership and stability for families in metropolitan Washington. It also conducts programs throughout the year on financial literacy for youth and adults to help them understand resource investment and wealth accumulation, two things that move generations of families from poverty to economic security. more »
