Commodity Supplemental Food Program

The Greater Washington Urban League administers the Commodity Supplemental Food Program providing needy eligible recipients with nutritious food at no cost. Funded by the D.C. Department of Health, the League disseminates a grocery bag of food on a monthly basis to community residents enrolled in the program.


Eligible residents are: Pregnant women, women who have delivered a baby in the last year, breast-feeding women, children up to six years of age, and senior citizens age 60 and over.


All residents must be certified to participate in the program. To be recertified, youmust visit one of the certification sites and bring the following: a photo ID, birth certificates for each child under six, proof of birth date for senior citizens, and proof of District residency.
